On 21st April the Society will be joining forces with the Keighley Schools website to host an exhibition relating to the History of Schools’ in Keighley.
This years event will have major features on:
- Highfield School
- Saint Andrew’s School
- Guardhouse School
The event will also see the launch of the Our Lady of Victories Exhibit. Over 1000 old photographs have been lent to Keighley Schools by the school. A selection of these from the schools opening in 1960 through to the late 1990′s will be on display at the event. If you were a pupil at OLV, we’d love to see you at the event. Hopefully you’ll be able to help us identify some of the people in the photographs!
A group of pupils from Our Lady of Victories will be attending the event. They are part of the schools media team. This team of pupils are in the early stages of preparing a video and radio rich online magazine that will be launched at the end of May. They will be on the look out for interviewees – be warned!
The last Schools’ History Display was a great success. Work from several of our local Primary Schools was so good that it was subsequently taken to the British Museum for inclusion in the Festival of Britain!
This is an example of some of the work done in Local Primaries that was sent to the British Museum.
